The station isn't staffed full time. We're volunteers — when there's no call and no training, we're at our jobs. If you stop by and nobody's there, that's why. The station phone is a landline that rings in an empty building, so call Chief Hurley or send an email and we'll get back to you.

Common Requests
Burning & Open Fires
Open burning rules are set by state and local regulation and change with conditions. Before you burn, check current restrictions — and call us if you're unsure. To report a large controlled burn ahead of time, call Kosciusko County dispatch at (574) 267-5667.
Smoke Alarms
If you live in our district and need a smoke alarm, or can't safely install one yourself, get in touch. Working smoke alarms are the single best thing in your house.
Truck Visits & Safety Talks
Schools, scouts, churches, workplaces, and parades — we're glad to come out when we have the crew. Give us plenty of notice.
Renting the Station
If the department makes its hall available for community use, contact us for availability and details.
Help With Rent, Utilities, or Food
That one isn't ours, but we'd rather you had the number than not. Clay Township Trustee Spencer Bartlett — (574) 566-2394 — helps township residents who are in a tight spot. It's a service your taxes already pay for.
